Visual C++ 2005 CRT

My current components do not need this library

You do not need to install these libraries if you have .NET Framework 2.0 installed.

There are two methods of installation: you can install the libraries as shared assemblies in the global assembly cache, or local to the application as private assemblies.

Shared assemblies

If you are presented with the error message
Error 1723. There is a problem with Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run.

it is because you do not have Windows Installer 3.0 or newer installed. Install Windows Installer 3.1 to correct this.

Private assemblies

  • Windows XP or newer

  • Stop here if you are using Windows 2000.
  • Download and extract Microsoft.VC80.CRT.7z to the same folder as the component dll. Be sure to leave the folder structure and contents of the archive intact!
